Assumption Church, Pezzonipet, 15 August 2021: It was indeed a glorious moment for the Parishioners of Our Lady of Assumption Church to celebrate the annual Church Feast on 15th August 2021. It was long awaited occasion for the faithful and clergy as well to celebrate the Parish Feast, as they could not celebrate previous year due to rampage of the pandemic widespread in the locality. 
Jubilation started at the dawning hours of the day amidst the colorful decors draped all around the Church campus along with dazzling lights. Celebration began with a short prayer by the Parish Priest at Marian palanquin. He briefed the faithful regarding the History of the existence of the Parish by way of Introduction after which Marian Palanquin procession began like Royal queen entry up to the stage.
The main celebrant of the Mass was Fr Bala, SJ, the Youth Director of Jesuit Congregation. The Holy Eucharist was enriched by consecration of five other priests of the Locality in the presence of huge gathering of the faithful. Fr Bala highlighted the Role of Mother Mary in the Salvation History and how she as new Eve of our age washed away our original sin through her son Jesus. He also reflected on the Role of each one of us as citizens of this country being the Independence Day. Special attraction of the Celebration was heavenly melodies of the choir that helped the faithful to take part in the Holy Eucharist and to deeply connect with the Divine.
Fr Thota Mariadas, sdb, the Parish Priest thanked all the faithful for their generous support towards the celebration and expressed his gratitude towards the priests for enriching the celebration with their presence.
As citizens of the country the national flag was hoisted soon after the Mass as a sign of patriotism in the presence of the Faithfull. Later, hundreds of the faithful thronged to the statue of Mother Mary showing their filial love and to receive her blessings by garlanding her. Thereafter, people left home happily to continue the celebration.
