I2n the process of expanding its mission of skilling youth of India, DB Tech launched a Youth Training Center (YTC) at Maridimilli, Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. The centre is a collaborative effort of the Govt. of AP with DB Tech as the implementing partner. It will cater to the tribal youth residing in and around Rampachodavaram. The domains proposed to be introduced to these youth are General Duty Assistant, Automobile, Masonry and Electrical.

In a participatory approach, the centre was formally inaugurated on 1st April 2016 with Mr. K.V.N Chakradhar Babu (ITDA- PO- IAS), Ms.Tejaskala (Sarpanch, YSR Party), Ms.Kundla Seethamaha Lakshmi (MPP, YSR Party), Mr.Satthi Sathyanarayana Reddy (ZPTC, YSR Party), Mr.Gorle Anil Prasad (MPTC, YSR Party), Mr.Seetam Setti Venkateshwara Rao (Ex-MLA, TDP), Mr. Suri Babu Goud (Mandal TDP Leader), Mr. Partha Saradhi (JDM) as guests and dignitaries.

Mr.Venkata Srinivas Rao, DB Tech Coordinator for Andhra Pradesh with the assistance of trainers, Mr. Praveen (Automobile) and Mr. Pramanand (Masonary) mobilized the tribal youth for the training in a 3-day drive from 30 March to 01 April, 2016. The team encountered a lot of resistance from the tribal community that was not open to any form of intervention from new or unknown persons. In this regard Mr. Prasad from “Velugu Team” gave his utmost support during the mobilization drive.

On the day of meeting the ITDA Project Officer Mr. K.V.N Chakradhar Babu addressed the gathering on behalf of Don Bosco Tech Society. He is a well-disciplined individual with an incredible record. He rendered his best to revive the youth. He commended DB Tech saying, “It is training the youth since many years and stands as the most trust-worthy and top NGO in the Society. It imparts important skills and also provides placement service to the needy youth.” He further explained that it is a wonderful opportunity for the youth to grow better and grow into best citizens of the country. He persuaded the youth to make themselves a part of the organization and get benefit out of it. At the end of the meeting, he inquired about the infrastructure and Curriculum which need to be set up to initiate the training process.

At the end of the program, thirty young women and men registered for training in General Duty Assistant course. Post training they will have employment opportunities with private hospitals.
