The 70th Independence Day of India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Don Bosco School, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad.  The ceremony started at 8.30 AM in the school open ground with the staff, students and parents.

The Chief Guest Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, Fr Silvio Roggia, member of the Formation Team, Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, Provincial, Fr Suresh Banda, Principal, Fr Nagothu Papaiah, Fr Lingampally Ashok and other dignataries were escorted to the stage by the school Band.

Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, welcomed the gathering and introducIMG_20160815_085116ed the chief guest and the guests of honor to the school. He emphasized on the internationality of the institute, being present in 130 countries and the pride of having it in India.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest, Fr Ivo Coelho unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed t he joy of our freedom.

Then the Chief Guest received the salute as the school groups marched past. The day unfolded with a cultural extravaganza, with students displaying their various talents, all to honor and celebrate IMG_20160815_084536our great Nation, India.

Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
