It was a day of great elation and exhilaration as Don Bosco Junior College, Chandur celebrated THE PRATHIBHA AWARDS AND FRESHERS’ DAY celebrations on 24 August 2016.
The cheerfulness of the entire college was on cloud nine. The Management, staff and the students expressed their joy of being part such an awesome gathering. The program began with the solemn reception of the Chief Guest: Mr. K. Prabhakar Reddy (MLA of Munugodu Constituency), the Guests of Honour: Mr. Santhosha Shekar (ZPTC of Chandur), Mr. T. Venkanna (MPP of Chandur), Mr. P. Govardan Rao (MPTC of Angadipeta) and the Special Guest: Mr. N. Mallesh (the sarpanch of Andadipeta). As part of Haritha Haram the guests have planted saplings in the college campus.
Mr. K. Prabhakar Reddy the MLA had presented the Prathibha Awards to four students Gouthami (MPC), Srujesh (CEC), Jai Kishan (HEC) and Venkanna (BPC) who had excelled in their 
Academic performances. As the part of the award students were given memento, cash of Rs. 3000/- and medal. The Guests in their speeches encouraged everyone to make use of student life in a fruitful manner to become someone great in the society.
The celebrations lasted for about six hours with an extravaganza of several dances, songs and skits performed by both arts and science groups. At the conclusion the staff and the students together with the principal shook a leg.
The Staff 
and students were offered snacks to refresh. They will surely be a golden page in this chapter of Chandur.
