27 December, 2016: It was a singular day for the faithful at Kurnavalli, Khammam District Andhra Pradesh, as Deacon Aduri Chinna Babu received the Holy Ordination to Priesthood, conferred by Most Rev. Maipan Paul, Bishop of Khammam.
The Solemn Holy Eucharist with the rich and exquisite rite of Priestly Ordination was concelebrated by 40 priests and around 600 faithful, all praising God for the gift of Priestly Ordination conferred to Deacon Chinna Babu.
During the homily, the Bishop underlined the importance of the Priests in the modern day world as ministers of Mercy and Compassion, as servants after the heart of Christ. He also reminded the Ordinando about the importance of being rooted in Christ through prayer and reflection on the Holy Scriptures.
In the short felicitation programme that f
ollowed the Mass, Fr Joji Y., the Vice Provincial expressed his great joy on having another member in the salesian priestly life. He also thanked Bishop Maipan paul and a special thanks were rendered to the parents and the family of Aduri Chinna Babu who had offered their son to the service of the Lord.
