The Administrators’ Meeting was held on 21 – 22, September, 2014 in Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. The scope of the meeting was to digitalize and centralize the administration. Fr Sojan, the Economer of the Province, welcomed the administrators and the accountants of our province and introduced the upgraded accounting package (ACME-ERP).
He did appreciate all the efforts put in the smooth functioning of our houses by all the administrators. The presence and active participation of a few lay accountants added variety and colour to the meeting. During the inaugural talk Rev. Fr Balaraju, the Provincial, extended a warm welcome to all the participants and exhorted everyone to be transparent and accountable in matters concerning finance and administration.
In the first session, Fr Vijay Bhaskar, the Vice-Provincial, enlightened the participants on the ‘Don Bosco Child Protection Policy’ as a relevant and must-be-known factor for every Salesian and those working in the Salesian Institutions. It was followed by the introduction to the newly updated accounting software, AcME ERP, which is an updated version of the existing AcME+. The two resource persons, Mr. Alexander and Mr. Ramesh from BICS, Yellagiri, put us in action in initiating and guiding all the participants in updating themselves with the revised version of the new software. We could see all the administrators engrossed in keeping themselves up-to-date. All the participants were provided with laptops and computers for the online learning of the software. The participants appreciated the new software and resolved to put into practice from the present financial year (April 2014 onwards) itself. The participants were given knowledge on WALLMART and its functioning by the HR Department of the company. Fr. P. Arul Das the DB Tech In-charge of the Province presented the status of the DB Tech and invited all the other houses to explore the possibilities of opening the DB Tech centers in serving the poor and needy youth. Fr Ratna thanked all those who have planned and implemented this meeting, in particular Fr Sojan, Mr. Alexander and Mr. Ramesh, for the expertise in their respective fields. The meeting ended with the concluding observations by Fr Provincial, Fr Vice Provincial and Fr Economer.
