Don Bosco Jr. College Chandur 18 August 2015: The Bicentenary Celebrations of the Birth of Don Bosco is an historical and memorable event for the Salesians all over the world. The community of Don Bosco , Chandur celebrated the Bicentenary celebrations in a three phases 1) The PEACE rally in hounour of Don Bosco on 12 Aug. 2) The Holy Eucharist on 16 of Aug. 3) The Concluding celebrations in Don Bosco Jr. College on 18 Aug.The concluding celebrations concealed of Prathibha awards and welcoming of Fresher’s to the college. The campus was filled with extravaganza and it was obvious as the students’ came to the college with colourful dress code and their joy reached its peak on this auspicious day.
The specialty of the programme was that the guest invitees were all the past pupils of the college except the Bishop. The Chief guest Most Rev. Govindu Joji (the Bishop of Nalgonda) in his speech stressed the works of Don Bosco in the world and in the Diocese. The Special guest Mr. Narasimha (DSP of Hyderabad) the past pupil of our college, Guest of hounour Mr. Subbarami Reddy (CI of Chandur) and Mr. Mallesham (the Sarpanch of Angadipeta) the past pupil of our college have spoken about the importance of acquiring values in the college. The students were rewarded with Prathibha awards by the Guests to the students who got the highest marks in the examinations and best out going students.
The Noteworthy of this programme is that all the items were self choreographed by the college students. The Salesian sisters from Marianiketan both Telugu and English Medium also have been part of the celebrations.
The celebrations went on till evening all the students performed their talents and they were applauded by all the invitees. It was an unforgettable event and all the students stood still till the whole programme was over. It has been successful because of the hard work of the Principal, fathers and the staff.
