Don Bosco Academy, Nalgonda, celebrated the International Women’s Day on 8th of March 2018 and promoted the respect and awareness for the women and girl child in the society.

 Rev. Fr Balashowreddy the Rector of Don Bosco Academy, addressing the gathering stressed on the importance of women in the life of each individual and privileges that should be given to a woman. Quoting various scriptures, he drove home the point of the role women play in nurturing life from birth to death.  Rev Fr. Salibindla Sandeep Inna Reddy, the Head Master, in his key note address stressed on gender equity and how empowerment of women is the need of the hour for the transformation of a society. He then proposed a debate in every class and allowed an open floor for all girl children to express themselves.

The children in their turn performed various street play and acts during the assembly. These plays were centered around the theme, Woman – Life giver. The day concluded with one of the students reminding all that though we celebrate women’s day on 8 March, Women should be celebrated, empowered and enabled every day of our lives. All gathered for the celebration hoped and wished for gender equality, equal opportunities and the increase in girl child birth rate in India
