Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK) is the Development office of the Salesian Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad (INH). BSK is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious body registered under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Areas) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli (Act 1 of 1350 F) and is committed to the integral and holistic development of the human being and rooted in the charisma of the Salesian within the church and in the society. BSK is the first child of the Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad after its formation. BSK was formed as an independent society on October 7th 1993. With the motto “TOUCH AND BLOOM” is expected to work with professional competence with public and private donor organizations and foundation, to provide professional support to Salesian programmes in the province of St Joseph, Hyderabad. The mail goal of the BSK is to make the Province self-sustainable through capacitating the management, staff and stakeholders. The motto was changed with the approval of Development commission with “ Touching Lives for Better Future” in the year 2006.

BSK was launched as the Development Office of the Province of St. Joseph, Hyderabad on 11th February 1993 Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy SDB the then Vice Provincial was appointed the Director of BSK. Fr Thekkekara Antony who was the assistant director until then was appointed as the BSK Director in 1998 and he was in the office till 2005. Fr Bellamkonda Sudhakar became the Director of BSK in 2005. BSK from its inception was in Don Bosco Provincial house, Hyderabad. It implemented many programmes. In achievement of its objectives, the work of BSK extended to more areas with more and more organizations coming into its network. There are 25 member organizations now on the rolls of BSK spread all over the State of Andhra Pradesh.


a) To prepare and execute, together with other stakeholders, the development policy of the province.
b) To coordinate all the developmental activities of the local communities and to assist them in effective project planning, implementation and evaluation.
c) To build up and provide documentary support on developmental issues, programmes, policies etc.
d) To collaborate with other developmental actors within the region.
e) To liaison with other Government and the non-governmental Organisations for resource mobilization, policy advocacy, etc.
f) To assist communities to develop as a self-sustaining organization.
g) To capacitate Development Office to respond immediately when natural calamities occur.
h) To collaborate with other Provincial commissions on developmental issues.
