On July 13, 2012 the campus of Don Bosco Academy, Nalgonda was filled with a freshness of life as the students and staff joined in a plantation drive, as part of the ecological awareness campaign of the institute.  Nearly 4000 plants were distributed to the members present to be planted in the 45 adjoining villages of the Academy.  Along with the plant each student, took upon himself and herself the oath to plant, protect and provide for the sapling and avoid use of plastic which is detrimental for the environment.

Present for this special event were Fr P. Arogyam, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Nalgonda and Mr Kommum Prasad, the environmental engineer of the muncipality of Nalgonda district.  The event was organised under the guidance of Fr Gopu Anand, the director of the Academy in collaboration with the confreres and staff of the institute.
