The 31st of October 2012 remains a memorable day in the history of  St Mary’s High school, Kollapur, Mahabub Nagar, as it hosted a ‘Legal Literacy Camp’ in its premises. It was organised by the judicial first Class Magistrate (JFCM) of Kollapur Mandal from three in the evening.  The chief guest and the speaker of the programme was Dr. T. Srinivas Rao, the Junior civil Judge of JFCM court, Kollapur.

The aim of the camp was to bring awareness to the students concerning the legal code and to instil in them a ‘sense of lawful behaviour’. Three other guests present too spoke on this occasion:  Smt. Aruna Devi, the public assistant prosecutor, Mr. Raju, the local Sub Inspector of Kollapur police station and Fr Pradeep SDB, the Principal of the hosting school.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. T. Srinivas stressed on the importance of laws with his systematic presentation. His interactive session with the students added much great depth and variety to the programme. The whole theme was an eye-opener to the students as it was very informative and entertaining  for the students. The students appreciated the programme very much and expressed their desire to have the same programme in the school at least twice a year. Only the high school students participated in the session. The programme ended at 4:15 pm with the National Anthem.
