22nd November, 2012 was a memorable and remarkable day in the history of Don Bosco Ongole as it celebrated the twenty five years of its pioneer’s priesthood. In the gracious presence of Rev. Fr Ignatius, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Nellore, Salesians from Vijayawada-Guntur regions, priests from Ongole Deanery, Nuns, Salesian Cooperators, and many lay people, Fr Mathew, the Jubilarian offered the Thanksgiving Eucharist.

Speaking about the Jubilarian in his short and sweet sermon, Rev.Fr Putti Anthaiah, the Rector highlighted the humanitarian qualities of Fr Mathew.  Fr Rector said that Fr Mathew is deeply rooted in his God-given vocation and lives his consecrated and priestly life spending his entire life for the people. Fr Rector also reminded us of the tireless endeavours of Fr Mathew in erecting the Society of Don Bosco Ongole.

Fr Mathew, in his Jubilee message, thanked everyone who added colours to his twenty five years priestly life. The Jubilarian shared with the assembly about his life as the pioneer in Ongole, the success and struggles in framing and forming the society of Don Bosco Ongole all through his decadic stay in Ongole.

The well staged enthralling cultural programmes and the delicious meals got the appreciation of all. The meticulous planning of the community in hosting the Silver Jubilee of Fr Mathew made the entire celebration eventful and historic.
