23 March: Don Bosco Academy, Nalgonda has organized 3K Run for degree & PG College students in and around the Town in order to express their grievances on the issues of National Integration and the women rights. The event was initiated from Choutuppal X road to Clock tower centre in Nalgonda. 14 degree and PG colleges including few Engineering College had participated and showed their enthusiasm for this social cause. Fr. Anand, the Director of Don Bosco Academy, addressed the audience and the participants on the role that women play in the society. He asserted that women need to be respected and empowered in the society. Fr. Balashwory, the Dean of Don Bosco Degree and PG college, and Fr. Bhaskar the head master of Don Bosco High School were present for the occasion.
When asked how you feel on this event ?, Kranthi, a 2nd year student of Don Bosco Academy has countered saying,” this type of events will be an eye opening for all the students”. “The students should fight for genuine causes rather being swayed by the individual interests” said Mr. Sonthosh, an Engineering college student. “We are in the world of Sacritism, where the women are facing problems in the nuke and cranny of the society. At this juncture, when we say that, students are the backbone of the country, we have to know the ground realities of the society. By organizing such events the students are really able to understand the cause especially the evils done to the Nation and specially towards women and we are truly going to bring a change in the present society” said Ms. Lilavathi, MG University Women’s cell In-Charge. It was a grand success and brought aspired results to the institutions. Kudos to Fr Anand for his brave steps for a social cause.
