June 12: Don Bosco Navajeevan, Ramamantapur, a home for the boys on the street in a big way organized a rally on world day against child labour. The intention of this programme is to bring awareness about child labour in Hyderabad and expose how children are being exploited at work places. It was flagged off by Fr T.D John the psychological counselor of the institution with a message at Don Bosco. About 300 children of the institution shouting slogans to ban child labour took part in this rally supported. Fr. Balashory the director of the institute and Salesian Priests, brothers and few foreign volunteers also joined the rally along with the children. The two and half hours rally which started at 3 p.m. at Ramanthapur received a huge response even from the locals as many of them joined the children as their sign of support and solidarity for this noble cause. Children demonstrating placards and banners went around the streets of Ramantapur and Uppal. The whole event went on peacefully and came to a conclusion at 5:30 p.m. at Don Bosco Ramanthapur.
