June 10, Karunapuram: The inauguration of Vishwa Jyothi Don Bosco College of Philosophy and Degree for the academic year 2013 – 14 held on the 10 of this month. His Lordship Udumala Bala, the newly consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Warangal was the chief guest of the day. In the presence of other dignitaries, students and staff the Bishop celebrated the Holy Eucharistic. In the homily, His Lordship stressed that the Holy Spirit should be the change-maker in the lives of the seminarians.
The Inaugural Ceremony was held in the college auditorium. Fr Mallavarapu Rayanna, the director of the institution formally welcomed the guests, the students and the staff members as he commenced the programme by invoking Christ the Light amidst the gathering with the lighting of the lamp. Thereafter Fr P. Tom, the Principal of the Vishwa Jyothi Don Bosco College, presented the conspectus for the Academic Year 2013-14. The Chief Guest, then, in his speech exhorted each one to study hard, be formed qualitatively and to uphold the values and teaching of the Catholic Church. Bishop Udumala Bala was then felicitated with a shawl by the director. The college anthem sung by the students revived the spirit of the college. The inaugural ceremony came to an end with the vote of thanks.
The Vishwa Jyothi Don Bosco College of Philosophy and Degree has assertively and assuredly begun the journey of yet another academic year with a step towards God. May God’s Holy Spirit guide them in ways everlasting.
