June 19: A seminar on the use and the effective management of DBDMS (Don Bosco Data Management System) Software was held at Don Bosco Provincial house, Hyderabad. 17 delegates from various institutions of the province attended this one day meet. Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the Vice Provincial, Fr Ch. Showrilu, the delegate for technical education of the province, Mr Srikanth, the state coordinator of DB Tech India and few other dignitaries were present for the morning session. Inaugurated with the welcoming words of Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar, the seminar took off on the right note to emphasize the prominence of keeping the record of the past pupils in all the 28 Salesian presences of the province. Fr Vijaya Bhaskar in his message encouraged the members to forge from the organized sector to unorganized sector to discover the marginalized youth who are the clutches of exploitation. Fr Showrilu led the inaugural prayer and initiated the seminar.
Mr Manoj, the resource person, from DB Tech India had taken theory classes in the morning sessions which threw light on the operation and maintenance of the software. The fascinating and user-friendly features of the softwear intrigued the members to assimilate it in a short span. Post lunch was a time given for the practical session where each one of the group is given a chance to work on the software and to ask doubts. The members expressed their delight in successful completion of the seminar. Fr Showrilu concluded the meeting in the evening at 5 p.m. with his speech.
A Team headed by Mr. Manoj will be visiting the Salesian communities to install the software from tomorrow.
