The Salesian Youth Ministry province coordinators meet of South Asia was held on 28-29 June, 2024 in Don Bosco Provincial House, Birdy – Hyderabad.
It was held under the direction and guidelines of Fr. Bosco Lourdhusamy, Provincial of Chennai Province, Fr. Thomas Santiagu, Provincial of our Hyderabad Province, and Fr. Michael Kishore, Vice Provincial of Hyderabad.
It was coordinated by Fr. Patrick Lepcha, South Asia delegate for the Social Experience Dimension. Coordinators from all eleven Indian provinces participated.
There were three main objectives for this meeting. Firstly, to analyze the ministry and activities of the youth ministry department in the previous annual year (2023-2024), secondly, to prepare the annual plan for the coming year 2024-2025, and thirdly towards the guidelines and procedures for the South Asia Youth Fest which will be held in Tirupattur (Tamilnadu) on 10-13 October. The discussion also took place on the challenges and strategies related to the youth ministry in our region.
The participants expressed gratitude to the confreres and staff of Don Bosco Provincial House, Birdy communities for the hospitality and facilitation.
The participants were enthusiastic and hopeful to realize the dream of Don Bosco in our South Asia region, with every good effort, support and dedication in our Salesian Youth Ministry.
