On July 16, 2024, on the feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a memorable chapter unfolded at Don Bosco Aspirantate, Chandur with the inauguration of Marian Month in honour of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, the Help of Christians and the Madonna of St John Bosco.

The Don Bosco Aspirantate resonated with a deep sense of filial devotion to Mary as everyone, including the Junior College Staff and students, gathered together on the Basketball court at 3pm in the afternoon.

The inaugural program began with the welcoming of Salesian confreres, staff members and students. The first part of the inaugural ceremony consisted of Marian Marchpast by Marian Warriors. It was followed by a message by the chief guest of the program, Fr S. Rajesh, the Rector, who said that Mary could be considered as the Mother of all peoples and Mother of all nations and that everyone could approach her with filial love and sincere devotion. He encouraged everyone present to inculcate devotion to Mother Mary.

The oath-taking ceremony was a spectacle to watch as all the Marian Warriors, namely, all the Aspirants divided into four groups – Velankanni, Lourdu, Gunadala and Fatima – promised to conduct themselves to according to the true spirit of sportsmanship. The chief guest, Fr S Rajesh, then declared the Marian Month 2024-25 open.

Thus the inaugural ceremony came to end with the releasing of pigeons and with a group photo of all 4 groups. The Aspirants of Don Bosco Chandur wasted no time in rushing towards the playground to kickstart the Marian tournament filled with a joyful and fond memory of a fitting homage paid to Mary, the Mother of all Christians.
