Hyderabad, January 14, 2024 – The Salesian Family Spirituality Days were celebrated on January 13–14 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, bringing together 80 members of the Salesian Family, including Salesian Fathers and Brothers, Salesian Sisters, Salesian Cooperators, and Past Pupils. The event focused on unity, spiritual renewal, and recommitment to the Salesian mission.
The celebration began with a prayer led by Fr. Vice Provincial, followed by a welcome address by Fr. Provincial, who, in his inaugural message, emphasized the primacy of God and the importance of working for young people. The two-day event included three sessions on the first day and a sharing and evaluation session on the second day. Key topics addressed by resource persons included: Mary, Mother and Guide, Salesian Way of Holiness, Preventive System, Holy Eucharist.
On January 13, at 5:30 PM, Fr. Provincial presented the 2024 Salesian Strenna, themed “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with Young People.” He highlighted the critical role of Salesians as bearers of hope who walk alongside young people, listening, guiding, and supporting them through life’s challenges.
The Strenna also underscored the need to address the challenges of the digital era, create safe and inclusive spaces for youth, and explore innovative ways to accompany them. It called for collective action to inspire young people and strengthen collaboration within the Salesian Family.
The event provided an opportunity for workshops, reflection, and missionary animation, enhancing members’ understanding of Salesian spirituality and their roles in faith formation. The Holy Eucharist, celebrated after the Strenna presentation, further unified the participants.
The Salesian Family Spirituality Days reinforced the bonds of communion and collaboration, inspiring members to renew their commitment to the Salesian charism and their shared mission of service to the young.
