Don Bosco School, Bandlaguda, celebrated its much-anticipated Annual Day with two days of vibrant performances, cultural showcases, and notable achievements.
On December 18, 2024, the Primary School students dazzled the audience with their lively and colorful dance performances, presenting a carnival-themed journey celebrating diverse cultures from around the globe. The next day, December 19, 2024, Senior School students took center stage with energetic performances that culminated in a powerful drama titled Yatra. The drama delivered a poignant message on upholding moral principles, valuing parental love, and steering clear of the pitfalls of peer pressure and social media misuse.
The celebrations opened with a soulful tribute to St. John Bosco by the school choir and orchestra, setting the tone for the events. A Telugu song on education and moral values, accompanied by the veena and dholak, added a touch of local culture and tradition.
The school also honored its high-achieving students. Three Class 10 students were awarded the prestigious Fr. Lens Award for Academic Achievement for their stellar performance in the CBSE examinations. Other students who had earned a Guinness World Record and featured in the India Book of Records were celebrated on stage for their accomplishments.
Day One featured Rev. Fr. Thomas Santiagu, President of the school and Provincial of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad, as the Chief Guest, and Rev. Fr. Michael Kishore, Correspondent of the school, as the Guest of Honour. The school’s principal, Rev. Fr. Nathan, presented an insightful Annual Report detailing the school’s progress and achievements over the academic year. Parents and guests commended the school’s efforts in fostering excellence.
On Day Two, the distinguished Chief Guest was Smt. Aruna Bahuguna, Retd. IPS, a trailblazing figure in Indian law enforcement and the first female IPS officer of united Andhra Pradesh. In her inspiring address, she encouraged students to make the most of their opportunities, strive for excellence, and pursue their dreams relentlessly.
The school extended its heartfelt thanks to the management, teachers, support staff, technicians, parents, and well-wishers, whose tireless efforts ensured the success of the event. The two-day celebration highlighted the unifying power of art, culture, and education, leaving an indelible impression on all attendees.
