The Salesian Community of Don Bosco Navajeevan Visakhapatnam celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco, father and teacher of youth in St. Peter’s Cathedral, Gnanapuram, Visakhapatnam on 28th January 2025. We were blessed to have Rev. Fr. Santiagu Thomas, Salesian Provincial of Hyderabad province as a chief guest to preside over the Holy Eucharistic celebration and to share the dream and wish of Don Bosco to us. He was accompanied by Rev. Fr. D. Balashowry, Vicar General, Fr. J. John Prakash, Chancellor of Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam as the guest of honour for the celebration. Fr. B. Suresh Babu (MSFS Provincial). Fr. Lourdhu, Fr. B. Joseph, Fr. Ravindra, Fr. Yesudas, and Fr. Balshowry were felicitated as they are celebrating their Silver Jubilee of Priestly Ordination. The feast culminated with the cultural program in the evening.
Fr. P. Arul Das, Rector of Don Bosco Navajeevan, Visakhapatnam welcomed the guests and participants. Our students staged different dances on Don Bosco. The guests were amazed to see our children dancing and acting well. The Annual report of Don Bosco Navajeevan for the year 2023- 2024 was released by the guests. Prizes were distributed to the students who won in different competitions held on Feast of Don Bosco. Fr. Maliekal Jose, Vice-Rector proposed the vote of thanks. It was followed by the festive dinner. Fr. V. Ignatius coordinated programme with the team. A good number of priests, religious, well-wishers, parents, friends and past pupils of the locality and the vicariate took part in the celebration.
