Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad witnessed a solemn celebration of the Feast of St. John Bosco on January 31, 2025, at Don Bosco Shrine, Bandlaguda Jagir. The event was marked by a Holy Eucharist presided over by Cardinal Dr. Poola Antony, Archbishop of Hyderabad.

Addressing an assembly of around 200 attendees, including Salesian Priests, Sisters, and Members of the Salesian Family, Archbishop Poola delivered a profound homily emphasizing the need to shepherd young people with Christ-like compassion. He extolled the preventive system pioneered by Don Bosco, highlighting its focus on holistic youth development, joy, and peace. Connecting Don Bosco’s legacy to modern challenges, Archbishop Poola encouraged hard work, humility, and education as vital tools for personal and spiritual growth.

He also acknowledged the immense contribution of the Salesians in the Telugu states toward advancing youth-related concerns. He urged for greater involvement of the Salesians within the Archdiocese, specifically inviting them to take up the role of youth director to spearhead diocesan efforts for the betterment of young people.

The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a festive dinner, fostering fellowship among the attendees. Fr. Kishor, SDB, Vice-Provincial of the Salesians in Hyderabad, expressed gratitude to all present, underscoring the relevance of Don Bosco’s teachings in today’s world.
