A five-day Don Bosco Vocation Camp concluded successfully on April 11, 2025, at St. Paul’s Regional Seminary, Nuzvid, drawing 22 participants from various parishes of Guntur, Vijayawada, Nelluru, and Yeluru. The camp, held from April 7 to 11, was organized to help young boys discern their vocation and learn more about Salesian life and mission.
The camp was directed by Fr. Palem Jeevan, with Br. Gatham Sudhakar serving as camp chief. Supported by a committed team of Salesians and brothers, the event featured a series of talks, spiritual sessions, games, and group activities designed to nurture faith and clarify vocational aspirations.
Highlights of the camp included the inaugural Eucharistic celebration presided over by Vice-Provincial Fr. Garlapati Michael Kishore, who encouraged the youth to generously respond to God’s call. The camp featured talks by various Salesians and a session by Sr. Udaya FMA, exploring the process of God’s call through Scripture and Church tradition.
The event also included film screenings such as Johnny and Prayanam, showcasing Salesian life, and an evening talent show where participants showcased their gifts. A pilgrimage to Gunadala Matha Shrine on April 10 was a spiritual high point, with participants praying the rosary on the hilltop and visiting nearby Salesian communities.
On the final day, personal interviews were conducted to understand each boy’s interest in continuing his journey toward the seminary. Of the 22 participants, 21 were selected to proceed to the next stage of discernment. The camp concluded with a solemn Eucharistic celebration and a farewell meal.
