Hyderabad, June 22, 2025 – The Don Bosco Past Pupils Association of the Province of Hyderabad marked the 155th Foundation Day with a renewed commitment to social outreach, focusing particularly on services for migrants. Delegates from various units across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana gathered at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Don Bosco Nagar, for a day-long coordination meeting.

The event began with a Holy Mass led by Fr. Noel Maddhichetty, Provincial Delegate, setting a spiritual tone for the day. Mr. Illuri Prasad, Provincial President, welcomed the gathering, which included key office bearers and representatives from local units. The formal session commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

In his address, Fr. Noel Maddhichetty urged members to bring impactful ideas to every meeting and to work closely to strengthen local units. He highlighted the importance of reaching out to marginalized communities, especially migrant populations and youth, and emphasized a greater push into digital engagement.

Focus on Migrant Services: A key highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Mr. Santosh Ghouse of Don Bosco Navajeevan, Warangal, who introduced the Don Bosco Migrants Program. He urged the Past Pupils to actively collaborate with the Salesians to protect the basic rights of migrant workers and families.

In response, the delegates resolved to support the provincial initiative and proposed to the Provincial Council the adoption and management of a Migrant Help Desk. Each unit also pledged to launch at least one migrant-focused outreach project as part of its ongoing social responsibility efforts.

Organizational Resolutions and Digital Expansion: In an effort to streamline operations, members agreed to contribute a monthly subscription, with part of the funds supporting provincial-level initiatives. Units were asked to submit updated lists of office bearers and members by July 24–25, 2025, and present activity reports during the July review.

To improve communication and visibility, Mr. Sunil Bojja was appointed Media Officer, tasked with collecting and sharing success stories through platforms like WhatsApp. Mr. Suneel Bojja was named Secretary for Media and Communications to oversee the association’s digital activities.

Local Units Showcase Solidarity: The event featured reports from several active units: The Metro Unit, led by Fr. Balaswamy, extended both immediate and long-term support to the family of the late Mr. Bhaskar. Mr. Madhu organized food distribution at CICAR School and supported families affected by bereavement. The Guntur Unit, under Mr. Anand, distributed essential supplies such as rice and fruits to roadside communities. The PT-Parru Unit, led by Mr. Nageshwara Rao, highlighted its work supporting over 100 scholarship for students, renovations of hostels, and announced plans to host the next provincial meeting in Vijayawada. Mr. Vijay David,  announced efforts to expand the alumni network across five districts, aiming to strengthen regional coordination.

A Renewed Commitment: In his vote of thanks, Mr. Dasthagiri, Metro Secretary, expressed gratitude to all participants for their dedication and collaborative spirit. The gathering concluded with a strong message of unity and a renewed commitment to Don Bosco’s values of service, outreach, and youth empowerment.
