Students and Parents Join Hands to Plant Saplings, Promote Environmental Awareness

Vijayawada, July 14, 2025
In a meaningful step toward environmental protection and sustainable living, Don Bosco School CBSE, Gunadala, Vijayawada, organized the Vanam Manam program on Monday within its campus. The initiative saw active participation from students, parents, teachers, and staff, with the aim of promoting a greener and pollution-free environment.

Under the leadership of Principal Rev. Fr. Bhaskar, the program emphasized the importance of afforestation and environmental stewardship. Addressing the gathering, Fr. Bhaskar urged each student to plant at least one tree every year, stressing that “every sapling planted is a promise for a healthier planet and a better future.”

Parents were specially invited as guests of honor for the occasion, contributing to the sense of community and shared responsibility. Together with their children, they took part in planting various saplings across the school grounds, making the event both memorable and impactful.

The Vanam Manam initiative is part of the school’s larger vision of fostering environmental consciousness among the younger generation. With global warming and ecological degradation becoming pressing concerns, such school-led programs serve as timely and vital contributions to community awareness.

The school campus buzzed with energy as students, guided by staff and parents, carefully planted saplings, symbolizing hope and a proactive fight against climate change. Don Bosco School’s green campaign reinforces the message that even small actions, when taken collectively, can lead to significant change.
