On 16th of December the Salesian Cooperators Unit and Maria Dalam of Ponnur Parish had Semi –Christmas celebrations with the poor people of Ponnur town. In the morning all the poor, abandoned and beggars were 
gathered in Railpeta Church, Christmas carols was conducted by the Catechists. Fr. K.S.Joseph, the Parish Priest gave Christmas message to the gathered, Christmas is the festival of Love. God so loved the world He send His only Son to save us. He appreciated the Salesian Cooperators and Maria Dalam members for their initiative. All were given mats, bed sheets, towels, sarees and other house hold utensils sponsored by Salesian Cooperators as Christmas gifts. The Ponnur special birayani with Chicken Curry was served to the gathered. Fr. P.Arul Das concluded celebrations with short prayer and blessing.
