DBNJ Summer Camp begins at Ramanthapur and Nampally, Hyderabad
DBNJ Summer camp – 2014 inaugurated by Fr. BellamkondaSudhakar, Director of DBNJ homes in Twin Cities on 1st May 2014 in the presence of Salesian community, Brothers, staff, Volunteers and 130 participants who will be part of the camp at Ramanthapur. Programme began with a hymn paying tribute to our father and founder St.John Bosco, the friend of youth and followed by invoking God’s presence by lighting of the lamp. On the same day we began intensive English camp for 22 children at DBNJ, home, Nampally which will be organized by Ms. Julie and Ms Teresa, Volunteers from Germany.
Fr. Chinnabathuni Showri, Camp Chief explained about the general instructions to be followed by the participants and introduced the Brothers to the children, they are, Cl. Ramesh, Cl. Joseph, Cl. Pramod, Bro. Baskar, Ms.Joshnna, and two volunteers Ms. Tessa and Ms. Saskia from Holland. The presence of Salesians during the inauguration was great witness to the children in working and being together as a team for collaboration and cooperation during the camp.
We have children from three DBNJ homes in Twin Cities, 10 girls from FMA and 5 girls from Charity Sisters respectively. There are about 25 children from the neighborhood. Total Number of children were 130. Children will have programme from 9.00am to 5.00 pm. During which they will learn English, Music, Dance, Computer and coaching in Football, Basket Ball and Volley Ball.
While addressing the children Fr. Sudhakar reminded one of the sayings of Don Bosco ‘Play, Run, Jump but do not Sin”. He said that there are many who do not have such privilege to take part in the camp. He also said that they should developthe virtue of CARING FOR ONE ANOTEHR. He asked them to make use of the camp well and learn new things. He also invited them to make use of the knowledge of the brothers and others who will be guiding them during the camp and get best out it. He said that Don Bosco did same thing to the children of his time and they succeed him to take forward the mission started by him for the poor and abandoned children. He called on to the camp organizers to be motivators and give their best to have memorable and unforgettable experience of their one month long camp. While wishing all the best and success of the camp, Fr Rector thanked Fr. Ch,.Showri, Fr.Igantius and others for their sacrifice and availability to organize the camp.
