A short-term Tally software course was inaugurated at the Don Bosco Skill Development Center, Parvathipuram, on November 4, 2025, in collaboration with NIRED (National Institute for Rural Empowerment and Development), Rajam, to promote youth employment and empowerment in the region.
The program aims to equip young people, particularly from marginalized and underserved communities, with practical and job-oriented skills that enhance employability and open avenues for self-employment.
The inaugural session was attended by dignitaries from the GMR Foundation, including Mr. Rajesh, Director, Mr. Rambabu, EDP Trainer, and Mr. Vijay, Tally Trainer, whose participation underscored the growing importance of industry-linked vocational training.
Representing Don Bosco Parvathipuram, Rev. Fr. Anil, Director, Rev. Fr. Suman, Administrator, and Rev. Fr. Gupta welcomed the guests and expressed appreciation for the collaboration with NIRED in creating sustainable career pathways for rural youth.
About 30 students took part in the inaugural event, which featured motivational talks and training insights highlighting the significance of discipline, skill development, and continuous learning. The speakers encouraged participants to make full use of opportunities offered through Don Bosco and GMR to shape their professional futures.
The event concluded with an interactive session, where students conveyed their gratitude to the management and trainers for their consistent support and mentorship.
Situated in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Parvathipuram faces notable socio-economic challenges, with many young people lacking access to higher education and stable employment. Against this backdrop, the Tally course initiative serves as a ray of hope, empowering local youth through skill-based learning and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
