Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad, April 3, 2024:  The Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad hosted the annual Formators Meet on April 2-3, 2024, bringing together confreres from various formation houses across the region. The gathering focused on redefining the role of formators in contemporary times, emphasizing their role as guides rather than traditional instructors.

Fr Garlapati Michael Kishore, sdb., the Vice-Provincial, highlighted the transformative approach towards formation, where candidates are encouraged to take an active role in their spiritual journey, with formators facilitating this process through example and presence. This paradigm shift aims to adapt to the challenges posed by a secular and technologically advanced era.

Fr Robert Pen, sdb, acting as the facilitator, shared innovative strategies, tools, and resources designed to support spiritual growth, foster community life, and strengthen trust between candidates and their guides. These methods have shown effectiveness in navigating the complexities of modern formation.

Expressing gratitude for the collective effort, Fr Santiagu Thomas, the provincial, appreciated the dedication of the confreres in nurturing the spiritual and personal development of the candidates within the Hyderabad province. The meeting concluded on a note of optimism, with participants leaving with new insights, stronger connections, and a renewed commitment to the evolving process of formation. The exchange of experiences and ideas at the meet promises to enrich and advance the formative journey for future generations within the province.
