HISTORY

Bishop Marampudi Joji was nominated the Bishop of Khammam on 31st January, 1992. From that day on, his one dream was to have the salesians of Don Bosco in his diocese for educational and pastoral work. An invitation to this effect was extended to the Provincial of the new Province, Fr. Benjamin Puthota. After a careful study by the Provincial Council, the offer was accepted. The Bishop placed at the disposal of the Salesians 12 acres of land for the activities of the Don Bosco Mission Complex.

On 31st January 1993, with a grand function, organized by the diocese of Khammam, the Bishop handed over Don Bosco Mission complex to the Salesians of Don Bosco. The pioneers in this mission were Fr. Maria Selvam, Fr. Jose Parokaran and Fr. Joseph Abraham.
