HISTORY

In the meantime a new building was fast rising up at Kismatpur, Himayatsagar Road, the present location where the Provincial house stands. The foundation stone was laid on the 8th December 1992 and was blessed by the then Archbishop of Hyderabad, Rev. Msgr. Samineni Arulappa. The construction was completed and inauguration of the same was held on 6th November 1994 at the hands of the then vicar of the Rector Major, Rev. Fr Juan E. Vecchi.

Since its separation from the province of Bangalore, the province of Hyderabad has had four provincials: Rev. Fr Benjamin Puthota, Rev. Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy and Rev. Fr Noel Maddhichetty and Rev. Fr Raminedi Balaraju. The fifth Provincial Rev. Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhakar has been appointed in 2016. Over the years, the Provincial house has changed face and is still evolving as per the needs and demands of the times. Situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad city, the place is an ideal spot for picnickers and others who seek the tranquility of a traffic and pollution free location. The Provincial house shares its compound space with the research and Youth Animation center, BIRDY and the Don Bosco Bandlaguda Parish.

SCOPE

  1. To assist the provincial and his team in the animation of the various sectors of the apostolate in the Province through facilitating the availability of the place and creating a conducive ambience.
  2. To be of assistance primarily to the Salesians and any other group as well, in the organization of various programmes, meetings, retreats and seminars.
  3. To coordinate the development work of the Province, through the Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK)
