1st Feb 2016, Hyderabad: Father Thathireddy Vijay Bhaskar SDB was installed as the new provincial of the Province of Hyderabad on 01 Feb 2016 by Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga SDB, the Regional Councillor for South Asia during the Eucharistic celebration at the Don Bosco Shrine at Bandlaguda, Hyderabad. Many Salesian priests and the faithful were present to thank God for this great gift to the Province of Hyderabad.

Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga, highlighted the importance of religious life, the difference between service and choice, authority as service which is Christ centered and a child like confidence and trust in Providence. Soon after the sermon Father Kanaga read out the Rector Major’s letter of appointment of Father Thathireddy Vijay Bhaskar SDB to the Province of Hyderabad. Thereafter Father Thathireddy took the oath as new Provincial, by the profession of faith. Father Balaraju the outgoing Provincial handed over of the keys of the office as a symbol of honour and service.
Father Thathireddy was born on 10 October 1974 in Reddypuram at Telangana, India. He is
the eldest son in the family of three children. He joined the novitiate in the year 1992-1993 at Kotagiri. He dedicated his life and took his first religious profession to be a Salesian on 24 May 1993 at Kotagiri. He completed his M.Ph from Jnana Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune from 1993-1995. His Perpetual profession was on 24 May 1999 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. He completed his B.Th from Kristu Jyothi College, Bangalore and Ordained a priest on 03 January 2003 at Ramanthapur, Hyderabad.
He successfully completed his PhD in Philosophy of Communication from UPS, Rome, Italy 
on the theme “A criteria of the philosophy of communication” through Ludwig Josef Johann Wittgenstein an Austrian-British philosopher who worked primarily in logic, the philosophy of mathematics, the philosophy of mind, and the philosophy of language.
He has been an accomplished Professor, the Delegate for Social Communication and Editor for the Kaburlu province magazine an Administrator at Birdys and the Rector and Vice Provincial for the past five years in the Province of Hyderabad.
A short felicitation programme followed thereafter for the former and present provincials. Father Kananga, the Regional Superior thanked Father Balaraju for his six years of animation and service rendered to the Province of Hyderabad. “Father Balaraju is a humble and devout confrere who did succeed in stabilizing the province in his inimitable style” said Father Kananga. “Father Thathireddy is a dynamic and enthusiastic person and wished him God’s blessing as he takes on the responsibility of animating and guiding the province, he is meticulous, diligent and good in execution of programmes especially during his short stint at the Generalate in Rome” said Father Kananga.
Father Thathireddy enumerates his vision for the province of Hyderabad by encouraging his conferes to be Christ centered and making our institutions to serve the poorest youngsters in the footsteps of our Father and Founder St. Don Bosco.
