Sahayamatha Shrine, St Michael’s Boys Home, Guntur, 22-24 March 2024: The Sahayamatha Parish in Guntur hosted a memorable three-day fasting and prayer event from March 22nd to 24th, drawing over 3,000 attendees from both the local vicinity and distant regions. Central to the daily proceedings, which commenced with Adoration and fasting prayer at 1:00 PM and concluded with evening programs at 10:00 PM were moments of deep spiritual reflection and community bonding. The event featured continuous rosaries and the Way of the Cross, transitioning to the main ground for the evening’s main activities.
This spiritual assembly demonstrated the profound unity and faith within the community, growing from 1,000 participants on the first day to 3,000 on the last, with attendees coming from as far as Mutlur, Peddakurapadu, Addanki, and Bheemavaram. The significant increase in participation highlighted the event’s appeal and the community’s eagerness to engage in this religious observance.
Under the stewardship of Rev. Fr Louis, the Parish Priest, along with the Administrator, Parish Council, the event’s logistics, covering necessities like food, lighting, and sound were expertly managed. Their leadership ensured a smooth execution of the program, facilitating an environment where the community could fully immerse in the spiritual experience. Rev Fr Cyril and his team were instrumental in the spiritual guidance offered throughout the event, providing continuous confession services to the attendees.
The event culminated in communal meals, symbolizing unity and collective gratitude, underscoring the essence of fellowship. The active participation of Rev. Fr Louis was pivotal, not just in organizing and executing the logistics but also in spiritually nurturing the congregation, thereby enhancing the overall impact of the fasting prayer event.
