Don Bosco Academy had celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco, the well- loved founder of the Salesian Order and the patron of the poor and the marginalized youth and the children on 31 of January. A special Homage was paid to the saint by the fathers, teachers and the students of the School and the college in the morning at 9:30am while Don Bosco band led the crowd with the Bosco anthem. Fr. Anand the Director of Don Bosco Academy in his introductory words spoke about the life of St. John Bosco and some of the great virtues of this youthful saint. He invited the students to dream high and have a great vision about their future. After the homage there were cultural items performs by the students in honour of St. John Bosco. Students were encouraged to spend their time praying and playing the lightening tournaments with the aim to give every student an opportunity to celebrate the feast, not only liturgically but also practically by discovering the joy of socialising in the many activities we organise for them.
In the evening, solemn mass was celebrated in the newly built Mary Help of Christians Church. Fr. Bala showry the vice rector welcomed the Main celebrant Rev. Fr. Leeno the Jubilerian, Fr. P. Arogyam, The Vicar general of the diocese of Nagonda, the other guest who have come for the celebration. Religious, Catholic faithful, academy students, Salesian co-operators and youth from neighbouring institutions were present for the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Leeno during the homily highlighted some of the great virtues of Don Bosco. After the mass, there was a felicitation for the Jubilarians, Fr. Leeno and Fr. Arogyam the Vicar General of the Diocese. Delicious meal was offered to all those present the students of the academy entertained the guests with their rhythemic steps, and sweet sounding voices.
