On the third week of October 2013 a massive flood fully affected the Ongole town with a continuous rain. Obviously it was told that it is one of the biggest floods in Ongole’s history. As the announcement given by the Government, people in and around of Ongole town were aware of this cyclone and escaped from the danger. Certainly our campus was under the flood. Due to the poor drainage system the dirty water and wastage had been collected in our campus. Our surrounding people made lot of holes to our campus wall for clearing the water in the roads and houses, that’s the reason so much of dirty water entered into the campus and appeared like a small fish pond. Almost 3’5 feet level height water had gathered and we could see some creatures like snakes, fish, scorpions, frogs and insects in the water. Thereafter the DB Ongole staff and students had faced practical difficulty in clearing the drain water. Many boys also affected by the contagious sicknesses. The community is now looking forward for the means for the prevention of the flood water collection in the future.
