PARA, Rajahmundry, 9 May 2020: PARA is active in mission on being with the migrants and construction labourers. However, several daily wagers, daily sits various junctions, hoping to get a call from contractors in and around every city and town. The hard times of this kind are on the rise now both for men and women who are dependent on the construction industry. Although the government has extended support by offering them free rice and vegetables, their quantities are inadequate for an entire family. The troubles for these workers are on the card until the construction sector starts functioning again.
PARA distributed Rice and Vegetables to the construction workers’ families at Konthamur, Rajahmundry. The Secretary for Construction Workers Union Shri Sirigiri Raja and Pastor Nelson Babu, Fr Vattigunta Ignatius, Director, PARA and its supportive staff Mr Paraorg, Mr Ameerpasha, Mr Anupjain were present during distribution. The construction workers were instructed on hygiene and health to combat covid-19.
