Hyderabad, October 20, 2024. A three-day workshop titled “AI in Apostolic Ministry: Enhancing Leadership, Management, and Administration” was successfully conducted from October 18-20, 2024, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. Organized by the Salesian Province of Hyderabad in collaboration with Bosco Soft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the event attracted over 40 participants, including Salesian Fathers, clerics, religious fathers and sisters, diocesan priests, and laypeople.

The workshop aimed at equipping attendees with knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence (AI) to improve leadership, management, and administrative processes within their ministries. Fr Yeruva Joji SDB, the workshop coordinator, along with Fr Muthyala Sudhakar SDB, ensured the smooth facilitation of the sessions across the three days.

The workshop covered a range of topics focused on enhancing leadership and administration: Day 1 highlighted Technology for Communication, AI Concepts and Applications, Digital Platforms, and the use of Google Workspace. Day 2 focused on Crafting Effective Prompts, AI Documentation, Creative Media, and Data Visualization. Day 3 explored Social Media and AI, Presentations with AI, and the crucial topic of Ethical and Security Considerations in AI.

The sessions were animated by Fr Thaddeus SDB, Fr Hendrik SDB, Mr Valen, and Mr Benedict, all experienced professionals in the field of AI. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and practical exercises, discovering the potential of AI tools to enhance their ministry work.

Sr Leema, one of the participants, expressed her satisfaction with the workshop, stating, “These three days have enabled me to gain a greater understanding of AI and its applications in ministry.” Similarly, Fr Priju from Chanda Diocese commented, “I’ve learned several useful tools that will undoubtedly make my workflow more efficient.” Reflecting on the potential of AI, Fr Sunny remarked, “AI is like a precious treasure that has remained hidden, yet it is within our reach.”

The workshop provided a valuable platform for religious leaders to embrace modern technologies like AI, setting the stage for more innovative and efficient ministry work in the future.
