Hyderabad: BIRDY Bosco Institute of Research and development for youth has organized Don Bosco Tournaments here from 13 to 15 of January. Ten Parishes and few other teams of the city have taken part in this three day high spirited game fest. Games Conducted like critket, foot ball, volly ball, Basket ball, shuttle and table tennis have beckoned hundreds of youngsters to walk into don bosco school grounds during this Sankranthi vacation. These games are inagurated by Fr Thathireddy Vijaya Bhaskar the Vice Provincial of the Salesian province of Hyderabad who himself is a sportsman. Fr Donthireddy Raja, the Youth Animator of the Province is also present on this occasion. The inauguration with a meaningful lamp lighting ceremony, a speech on sportsmanship of St Don Bosco by Fr Vijaya Bhaskar and an oath taking ceremony by all the players involved have set moral and sportive directions for the players. Teams exhibited vigorous team work and physical dexterity on the field and a friendly interaction with the other team members off the field. St Mary's Basilica's and Kirathabad parish won foot ball and volley ball respectively while Don Bosco shrine Bandlaguda and Ramnagar parish procured shuttle and table tennis trophies. The semifinal and final matches for the cricket will be conducted on 20th in the school grounds. Fr Raminedu Balaraju, the provincial of the salesian province of hyderabad has given away the prizes to all the declared winners of the games on 15 at Don Bosco Provincial House Hyderabad. He in his speech lauded Fr Donthireddy Raja and the youth of Don Bosco Shrine for their hard work and meticulous planning to make this tournament a successful one.
