25 November 2023 – The Jesus Youth movement, known for its vibrant evangelization efforts, hosted an inspiring week-long Discipleship Training Programme (DTP) in Mariagiri, Srikakulam Diocese, from the 25th of November to the 1st of December. The initiative, designed to deepen the faith of young believers and guide them closer to Christ, saw enthusiastic participation from two Jesus Youth members from each diocese.
The programme, spearheaded by enthusiastic Jesus Youth Leaders, was anchored in the rich experiences of its participants, making it a profoundly personal and transformative journey for everyone involved. Fr. Medi Sleevaraj SDB, the Youth Director, played a pivotal role, dedicating his efforts to lead the participants towards a deeper understanding and relationship with Christ through the celebration of the Holy Mass and Adoration.
Each day was structured around significant periods of prayer and reflection, allowing participants to share and reflect upon their personal experiences of God’s presence in their lives. This approach fostered a unique and intimate environment, encouraging deep spiritual growth and camaraderie among the youth.
Remarkably, the programme also welcomed former Jesus Youth members, including sisters, who returned to share in this spiritual journey, highlighting the enduring impact and unity of the Jesus Youth movement. Their participation underscored the programme’s significance as a moment of renewal and deepening of faith, bridging past and present generations of Jesus Youth members.
The DTP aims to empower these young leaders with the spirit of love and forgiveness, equipping them to be beacons of Christ’s love in their communities. The transformative experience is expected to inspire them to lead lives that reflect their faith authentically and to engage in evangelization efforts that draw more young people to Christ.
As the programme concluded, the participants, now reinvigorated in their faith and fellowship, are poised to make a significant impact in their dioceses.
