Don Bosco Navajeevan, Vishakhapatnam, 17 December 2023: In a heartwarming celebration of community and giving, Don Bosco Navajeevan in Visakhapatnam marked the festive season with its Semi-Christmas celebration on 17 December 2023. The event, attended by 586 children from various slum tuition centres, transformed Don Bosco Navajeevan Bala Bhavan into a haven of joy, festivity, and gratitude, embracing the true spirit of Christmas.
Under the theme “God with Us,” the day was filled with engaging games and a cultural program that beautifully narrated the birth of Jesus, reminding everyone of the message of hope and divine presence in our lives. The celebration saw significant contributions from Fr Aruldas, the Director, along with Fr Yandava Kalyan, the Administrator, and Fr Medi Sleeva, who collectively expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards donors, sponsors, and the entire Don Bosco family for their unwavering support and generosity.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr. John Prakash (Chancellor, Visakhapatnam), Fr Vijaya Bhaskar, Sr Prasanthi, Ms. Radhika (CWC Chairperson), Sr Shaily, and Sr Teresa, who were honoured for their contributions to the community. A highlight of the celebration was the cake-cutting ceremony, where guests and children together shared in the joy of the season.
The festivities concluded with the distribution of drinks, cake, and snack packets to the little stars of Don Bosco Navajeevan, ensuring they returned home with hearts full of joy and the warmth of the community spirit. This Semi-Christmas event not only celebrated the festive season but also reinforced the power of giving, community, and the hope that guides Don Bosco Navajeevan’s mission to create a brighter future for children in need.
