In today’s rapidly evolving world, guiding students toward making informed career choices is more crucial than ever. Having been appointed as in charge of DHISHA (Career guidance and placement) of Vijayawada region I had the privilege of conducting a series of career guidance workshops in several government schools across the Guntur and Vijayawada districts. where the use of animations played a pivotal role in engaging and enlightening 10th-grade students.

Don Bosco School, Mangalagiri, Guntur: At Don Bosco School, Mangalagiri, the workshops were kicked off with enthusiastic 10th-grade students. We explored a myriad of career options spanning from traditional professions to emerging fields. The students actively participated in discussions about their career aspirations and the necessary educational pathways to achieve them.

A. P. J Abdul Kalam M. C Urdu High School, Vijayawada: The journey continued at A. P. J Abdul Kalam M. C Urdu High School in Vijayawada, where the workshops were tailored to cater to students from Urdu medium backgrounds. Overcoming language barriers with the power of animations, the complex career information was successfully conveyed in a simplified and engaging manner. The feedback from both students and teachers was overwhelmingly positive.

ZPH School, Kornepadu, Guntur Dist: At ZPH School, Kornepadu, a comprehensive career guidance session for 85 students was conducted. Beyond just showcasing career options, they were provided personalized counseling and distributed educational materials to foster deeper reflection and understanding among the students. This holistic approach aimed to empower each student with the knowledge and confidence to navigate their future career paths.

The impact of these workshops extended beyond mere information dissemination. Students were not only introduced to diverse career possibilities but were also equipped with the insights and resources necessary to make informed decisions about their futures. The interactive nature of the sessions allowed for meaningful dialogue and personalized guidance, ensuring that each student felt supported in their career exploration journey.

As a Salesian, I believe that empowering students with knowledge about their career options is a transformative endeavor. Career guidance isn’t just about pointing students toward a job, it’s about lighting the path to a fulfilling and purposeful future. I thank the province and my confreres for their support and commitment to inspire and nurture that spark of ambition in every young mind we encounter.
