St. John’s Regional Seminary, Kondadaba, Begins Marian Month 2024 with Thrilling Tournaments and Reverent Prayer Service.
St. John’s Regional Seminary is filled with anticipation and reverence as it prepares to honor Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 16, 2024. This year’s celebrations began with two distinct events, each demonstrating the deep devotion of the staff and students of philosophy to Mary, the heavenly mother.
At 4:30 PM, the seminary burst into enthusiastic activity with the inauguration of the Marian Tournaments 2024. This event, marked by spirited participation and camaraderie among the brothers, showcased their dedication to Mary through competitive and team-building activities. Fr K. T Jose SDB graced the inauguration of the Marian Sports event as the chief guest, officially opening the Marian tournaments. Brothers pledged their efforts with heartfelt devotion to the heavenly mother.
Later in the evening, at 7:17 PM, the seminary community gathered for the solemn Marian Month Inauguration Prayer Service. Rev. Fr Thumma Vijay Prathap, the Rector of St. John’s Regional Seminary, presided over the service. Here, amidst a hushed atmosphere of prayer, the community reflected on Mary’s role as a guiding light in their lives. Fr. Thumma Vijay Prathap introduced the theme “Be with Us Mary, Along the Way,” emphasizing Mary’s enduring presence and intercession. He also recounted a poignant tale of Mary’s apparitions in Egypt, particularly at St. Mary’s Coptic Church in Zeitoun, where her appearance united people of diverse faiths in reverence and awe.
Throughout both events, the community of St John’s Regional Seminary demonstrated profound devotion to Mary as the Seat of Wisdom, seeking her intercession and guidance in their academic pursuits and personal lives. These moments of prayer, reflection, and communal celebration underscored the seminary’s commitment to honouring Mary and deepening their spiritual journey together.
