On August 16, 2024, on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of St. John Bosco, the Salesian provincial house community along with temporary professed confreres gathered to celebrate the conclusion of the Don Bosco Dream Year.

The event was marked by reflections on Don Bosco’s dreams and his unwavering passion for the young. This year-long celebration and animations were dedicated to honouring the life, vision, and legacy of Don Bosco, the beloved founder of the Salesian family. The Don Bosco Dream Year encouraged participants to dream big, be courageous, and embrace their own passions and talents, following in the footsteps of Don Bosco.

Fr. Vice Provincial, in his address, emphasized that the true essence of Don Bosco’s dream is found in realizing one’s own dreams in everyday life. He urged the young clerics present to embrace their own aspirations with the same fervour that Don Bosco exhibited. “As young clerics, you are the future of our Salesian family. You are the ones who will carry forward Don Bosco’s dream, adapting it to the needs of the 21st century,” he said.

The conclusion of the Don Bosco Dream Year served as a call to action for the Salesian community, particularly the young clerics, to continue dreaming, innovating, and serving the young with the same passion and love that Don Bosco had.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt tribute from the community. Participants listened intently to the story of Don Bosco’s dream, after which they garlanded his statue and renewed their commitment to the Salesian mission, pledging to carry Don Bosco’s legacy into the future.
