Hyderabad, Jan. 14, 2025 – The 10th Regional Youth Convention, held from January 11 to 14, 2025, brought together over 2,000 youth from the Telugu States for a spiritually enriching experience. Organized under the leadership of Most Rev. Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar PIME, Chairman of the Youth Commission of the Telugu Catholic Bishops’ Council (TCBC), in collaboration with the Salesians of Hyderabad Province, the event focused on faith development, youth empowerment, and Christian values.
Under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” inspired by Pope Francis, the convention featured keynote addresses, workshops, group discussions, and prayer sessions aimed at strengthening faith and preparing youth for leadership roles in their communities.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Bp. Karanam Dhaman of Nalgonda, Fr. Thomas Santiagu, Sr. Pauline, and other dignitaries. Bp. Rayarala Vijaya Kumar PIME encouraged young people to nurture hope and faith, while Fr. Thomas Santiagu urged them to embrace Christ’s love and share it with the world.
Throughout the four-day event, sessions covered topics such as Christian values, prayer life, leadership, and the role of youth in society. The participants took several key resolutions, including:
Empowering themselves with Christ’s love.
Keeping their faith alive in daily life.
Living out Christian values in their personal and professional lives.
Respecting parents as a foundation for growing in faith.
The convention culminated in a solemn Concluding Mass, presided over by His Eminence Poola Anthony, Archbishop of Hyderabad, alongside several bishops and clergy. In his closing remarks, Bp. Rayarala expressed gratitude to the organizers, clergy, and youth participants, calling the convention a milestone in fostering faith and leadership among young Catholics.
