On the 23rd of June 2014, nearly 500 women from various villages of Tajangi, Lambasingi and Pedda Barada participated in the opening of MACS (Mutual Aided Cooperative Society)programme at Tajangi, Chintapalli. The Don Bosco ITDS is helping the tribal women, in 24 mandals, 16 thousand women are having saving of 4.20 crores.
Fr. Vijaya Bhaskar – the Vice Provincial of Hyderabad Province, Fr. Rayappa – Rector, Principal and director of ITDS, Mr. Chandrashekar – the state coordinator o the institute of Don Bosco, Mr.Angadar Rao – MPTC of Tajangi, Mr. Bajjayya – Sarpanch of Tajangi and other important persons were present in the programme.
Fr. Rayappa spoke about the purpose of getting the approval for MACS, the importance of savings, the need for education and other important issues which were helpful to the tribal people. Then Fr. Vice Provincial spoke about MACS. He in a special way appreciated Fr. Rayappa SDB and Sr. Padma SjA for the beautiful and creative work they are doing for the developemnt of the tribals in Chintappli Mandal. Mr. Chandrashekar explained to the women and the cluster leaders about the need for savings, how they have to save money, the benefits of it. The village leaders thanked Fr. Rayappy for his efforts in motivating their people and helping them to realize their rights. At the end of the meeting all the women were given lunch. Chintapalli Don Bosco Mathru Janani Mahila mutually aided co-operative thrift credit society Ltd. Will continue under the leadership of Mrs. K. Bhagya Lakshmi and B. Venkatakumari and other B.O.D members.
In the evening we went to Lambadapalli where the MACS is taking up the first programme of constructing a water tank for the tribal people. Fr. Vijaya Bhaskar – the vice Provincial laid the foundation stone and the villagers were extremely happy and they thanked Fr. Rayappa and his team for the help they are doing.
