Hyderabad, 26 – 27 : Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Chennai had organized First National Seminar on Youth Development on 26-27 February 2015. Around 200 participants from across the country nearly from 15 states were present. Besides the academic presentations by around 50 professionals in plenary and parallel sessions, the seminar provided the nicest opportunity to students from different universities and Colleges to interact and exchange pleasantries.
There was an excellent and an exclusive session for the youth which was conducted by the Young panel in the seminar was another opportunity. The seminar also had cultural evening by the students on themes of youth development. Every session was commenced and concluded with a short film in the seminar. Poster making contest from participants was another distinctive engagement in the seminar by educators, practitioners and students from various parts of the country. The Papers were present on different themes: Youth Development: Strategies and Approaches, Education, Employment and Skill Development, Health and Healthy Life style for Youth, Panel Discussion: Youth Entrepreneurs, Youth Development In India: Initiatives and Interventions, Youth Engagement in community, Politics and Governance and Social Inclusion and Social Justice.
Fr P. Arul Das Sdb and Mr. K. Satyanand from Bosco Seva Kendra (BSK) Salesian Province of Hyderabad participated and presented papers. Fr. P. Arul Das presented a scientific paper on the theme: ‘Significance of Transforming Youth as Entrepreneurs’. It was indeed a marvelous experience to witness so many youth experts and youth workers from all over the country coming forward with new initiatives and new policies for the development of Youth.
