Punganur 17 June 2015: The inauguration of the academic year 2015-2016 of Don Bosco English Medium School, Punganur was held on 17 June 2015 in the presence of Fr Shantha Murthy, the correspondent and Mr K. Selva, the new Principal started with a strength of 450 students and still to come.
During the inaugural ceremony the Correspondent introduced and welcomed the new Principal to the students this being a special occasion wherein a lay person is appointed as the Principal of the school for the first time. The Correspondent and the Principal also spoke of their dreams and aspirations for the year ahead. The Correspondent highlighted the significant events of the previous academic year and thanked Fr M. Prakash for his services as the Principal for the past three years.
The first and second rank holders of the tenth standard of the
previous year, Bhavith and Anil Kumar, were felicitated on this occasion. Two of the teachers who excelled in their respective subjects for the tenth class were honoured on this day.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer dance and lighting of the lamp, with few prepared programmes. Mr Selva, as he took charge as the new principal of the school, expressed his gratitude towards Salesians for giving him the
opportunity in taking care of the School.
