Rome 16 June 2015: Fr. Miriyala Bala Kishore sdb of the St. Joseph Province of Hyderabad, defended his licentiate thesis titled Towards Ecclesio Civic approach to the Youth Ministry at the Salesian Pontifical University, Rome, On 16 June 2015.
Fr. Kishore, through his original and path-breaking thesis, explored a possible collaboration between the Church and Government with regard to youth pastoral policies and vision for the youth in the present Indian scenario. in this research he tired to investigate the history and the development of National Youth Policies of India, with a special focus on the Ministry of Youth Affairs and other Ministries of Government addressing directly or indirectly the youth issues, vis a vis to the Churchs youth policies and plans. he made an attempt to survey the objectives, priority areas and guidelines of the youth policies of the Government which correspond to the Christian vision so as to include them in the Catholic youth ministry plan, without losing the Christian identity and spirit.
At the end of the defense, he expressed his debt of gratitude to his first guide Dr. Anthony Francis Vincent, his second guide Dr. Fernando Sanayadas and Dr. kalluvachel Varghese, the president of the defense panel. He thanked also the dean of the faculty of theology, confreres and friends. we wish him all the very best for his ministry back in the province.
