Hyderabad 21 December 2015: The province of Hyderabad came together to celebrate the priestly ordinations with joy and happiness. The deacons were conferred by his grace Archbishop Thumma Bala in the presence of the priests, religious, sisters, parents and faithful on 21st Monday at Don Bosco Shrine, Bandlaguda.
As a sign of gratitude towards Don Bosco in the Bicentenary of his Birth the Ordinations were organized together in the Provincial House. The Deacons were Boddu Charan Kumar, Gandala Simharayulu, Kalakoti Ramesh, Kalukula Rajesh and Talari Sanjay were solemnly accompanied by their parents to the altar as a sign of complete surrender and sacrifice. The faces of deacons were aglow while they were receiving the priesthood of Christ.
“Priesthood is a total surrender. Every priest ought to become humble like Christ in forming people. To become priest means it to become sacrificial lamb to the Lord,” said Bishop Thumma Bala in his sermon. He also exhorted the priests to follow the path and values of the gospel and not of the world.
There were around 800 people gathered for this great occasion. Fr. Raminedi Balaraju, the Provincial and Fr. Joji Reddy the Vice Provincial along with their team members, meticulously planned and executed systematically to make this priestly ordinations event a memorable occasion in the lives of the newly ordained priests and to their family members.
Fr. Charan, newly ordained priest expressed his sentiments of gratitude and said “I would try to become more humble day by day and grow more like Christ in my words and deeds. I am very happy with all my confreres for their love and appreciation.”
A short felicitation programmed was arranged immediately after the Holy Eucharist for the ordained priests.
