Don Bosco School, Bandlaguda, 16 August 2019: 16th August 2019 marked the 204th birthday of Don Bosco. The day was celebrated with a special assembly organized by Class 9. Songs, a skit on events from the life of St John Bosco, quotations of Don Bosco and a quiz were all part of the joyous celebrations to commemorate the birthday of our beloved founder.
John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, was born in 1815 in Becchi, Italy, to a family of poor farmers. John Bosco lost his father when he was only two years old. He had to overcome much hardships and struggles in life. He went on to become a priest – taking care of thousands of impoverished street children and establishing the Salesian Order. Don Bosco established an education system that was way ahead of its times and which stands in good stead today.
Don Bosco is a true inspiration for students studying in Don Bosco Schools and institutions across the world.
